About the fest

What is Ankeny Unplugged?

Several years ago, Ankeny Unplugged was started by the City of Ankeny with help of the Ankeny Junior Chamber (Jaycees) as a way for the community to come together to listen to live music, have a few drinks, and have some fun.

Now, the Ankeny chapter of the Jaycees has taken over organization of the event. In 2011, we changed the way Ankeny Unplugged works.

On Saturdays in June, we are calling on amazing “from-your-backyard” local and regional original music acts and giving it a music festival feel with the new Ankeny Unplugged Market that includes food vendors, art, crafts, beverages (beer!), confections, and a free bicycle valet and more — all packed into a grand slam of four consecutive weekends of the best we can offer!

Recap: great original bands, art and craft market, food, beverages, bicycle valet, and good times at beautiful Wagner Park in Ankeny for everyone over the course of four Saturday evenings. $3/day can’t be beat.

Bring the family, bring your friends, and we’ll provide the rest! (and we hope you come back!)

About the Ankeny Junior Chamber

The Ankeny Jaycees is a 100% volunteer nonprofit community organization. Other than creating and organizing Ankeny Unplugged, the Jaycees is committed to developing the personal and leadership skills of volunteers. As is with all Jaycees events, all work by the members is unpaid and considered a donation to the community. The proceeds from all Jaycees sponsored events are redistributed right back to the community via various local charities, scholarships, events, and other actions.
