Ankeny Unplugged 2011 won a Mixie award
Each year, Des Moines Metromix hands out Metromix Mixie awards to artists, musicians, cool people, events, and other awesome things that positively affect the Des Moines music and art scene.
And we won one!
So many thanks to the 2011 bands, sponsors, volunteers, and vendors. Thanks the City of Ankeny, the Ankeny Jaycees. And, thanks to YOU for helping us make this possible!

Every Wednesday until the first Ankeny Unplugged Festival Series event on Saturday, June 2, we will be giving stuff away. It’s pretty simple, really — you follow us on Twitter or Facebook (or BOTH!?), and we’ll reward you for sharing with your friends and encouraging them to follow us, too.
Why?
See, the thing is, Ankeny Unplugged was created and is run by a nonprofit volunteer community organization (the Ankeny Junior Chamber), so we rely heavily on awesome grassroots marketing to spread the word about AU. We need your help!
You help us, we help you. It’s how we do things.
Any profit we make on beer sales, food sales, sponsorship, etc., goes right back to the community in all sorts of ways. We love you, we love our community, we love music and art.
